Palma, Mallorca 2015

Last week I went to Palma, the capital of the Island, Mallorca or Majorca or however you want to spell it...
We went for 7 days, and stayed at the Melia Palas Atenea. It was just outside of the old town, about a 10 minute walk and was lovely and look as though it was recently refurbished. We had a partial sea view, and the we could see the stunning harbour from our balcony!

We ate out pretty much every night, as we didn't have all-inclusive in the hotel. Some nights were better than others but thats to be expected when trying new places and new foods. On the whole I enjoyed the majority of the meals I ordered. The food above is our order from Hard Rock Cafe; The Honey and Mustard Chicken sandwich, The Hickery Barbeque Pulled Pork and The Chicken-Chop Salad.

These restaurants were more independent and authentic in the sense that the menus consisted of more local cuisine rather than Hard Rocks' all american kind of menu.
Here I tried the Thai Green curry with prawns which was wayyyyyy out of my comfort zone as I'm usually a pasta or pizza kind of gal. However I surprised myself and like it more than I thought I would.

Hard Rock's Famous Chicken Fajitas, from our second visit of the week...

Jaime III, Famous for its shopping

We ordered this from a cafe literally next to our hotel, it was lovely but ruined by how long we had to wait to receive it. Didn't help that we were in a rush as well....

Palma is such a beautiful city, with a balanced mix of everything you want in a break or holiday, can't recommend it enough... Defiantly would go back. However if your not keen on heat, like some of my family, it isn't really for you, especially in July or August obviously. Because its a city, the buildings make even the nights very humid and sweaty more than say a resort or places like that as they are more open and such

anyway

a day to remember

If you read one of my first posts back in January, you might remember that I mentioned my parents were preparing to tie the knot later this year.
Well, that time came. Last Saturday, the 30th of May 2015.
They got married after nearly 19 years of being together, and I was so honoured and blessed to be there and share it with them.
We ate, drank, danced and laughed. Honestly the best day I have had in ages.
All my family, most of my friends all in one room to celebrate two of the most important people in the world to me.
Truly a day to remember....
